This trailer is of the newly released film 'Devil'. The trailer shows 'snippets' of the story line and the general settings of the film which are in an elevator. This is typical of a horror movie which are usually set in an isolated area. In this clip we see that the elevator is quite small and the people inside appear tightly packed together in the small space. Futhermore we also see that the elevator experiences a malfunction and as a result the characters within the film are trapped inside untill the problem is fixed.
Due to the settings of the film which appear to be mainly inside the elevator, camera work is compact and there are alot of uses of close up in order to illustrate fear on their expressions aswell as putting the audience in the eyes of one of the characters, being so close together which complete strangers while terrifying things are happening. However this film also appears to include long shots such as the elevator shaft and the sky scrapper buildings in order to show the hight of the building the events are situated in. Another intresting use of camera work is at the begining sequence which introduces the trailer and film where the landscape of New York is flipped upside down, this i believe is to create disorientation amongst the audience. However once i have actually now seen the film, i believe it has a hole different meaning.
The iconography of this this trailer shows the use of lighting for example the malfunctioning elevator lights flicker on and off to create suspence.
The narractive structure of this film appears to be told by the main protagonist which also enters the elevator. Their are underlying motives for him being the main protagonist which link to how the entire plot is resolved.
The trailer shows that the film is situated within an office building in New York city so as a result the characters appear to be business men and women, security guards, police and the make it clear to the audience who the main protagonist is the character type is completely different and dresses against the norms of the office claiming to have 'somewhere to be' he is immediately outcasted by the others.
The main theme of this movie once seeing it is about morals and belives. It makes 'forgivness' a very poignent theme for the movie throughout. Also from the title we can clearly see religion is also an important theme for this film.
